Helpful content update: August 2022
Google made information regarding its new helpful content upgrade public in August 2022. This site-wide signal is intended to reward material that educates or assists users rather than content that is produced only to rank highly in search results.
To make sure you are creating content that is focused on people, Google has published a list of questions to ask about your content reviews. Additionally, it stated that online educational resources, arts/entertainment, retail, and tech-related content might all be most negatively impacted. Overall, it had a minimal effect but some website categories really felt the impact such as ringtones, coding, and lyrics.
Product Reviews Update: July 2022
The fourth version of the product reviews improvement was done six days after Google indicated that it would take two to three weeks to roll out. This is intended to honor excellent product evaluations and was more of a refreshment than anything new. This upgrade had less ranking volatility than earlier ones that affected product reviews.
